Ally’s Take: Thrifting, Hidden Gems & KBIS Color Trends
Getting to Vegas early was a total win—I had time to see everything, from the iconic Strip to the best hidden gems in Downtown Las Vegas (aka my holy grail thrift stores). You know I can’t resist a good vintage find, and let me tell you, Vegas did not disappoint!
Then came KBIS, and WOW, the color! I had no idea a sink could be a statement piece until I saw Concretti’s insane designs. And don’t even get me started on hidden appliances—Monogram’s red leather fridge?! Who knew that was even a thing?! But one of my favorite trends? Two-toned cabinets. That mix of warm wood and deep blue felt like the perfect blend of my two worlds coming together.

Vegas Vibes & Design Trends: What I Learned at KBIS – Ashtyn

What a whirlwind of a trip! Full of fun, education, and discovery, my time at KBIS was an experience I will never forget. As soon as I arrived, I was buzzing with excitement for the education sessions at the VITF Conference, but I was completely blown away by the vast number of vendors showcasing their innovative products. Honestly, I’m pretty sure that even with two full weeks at the KBIS (Kitchen & Bath Industry Show) and IBS (International Builders\’ Show), you wouldn’t be able to see everything!
Beyond the education and the vendors, this trip was an incredible bonding experience for our team. Our design team and marketing coordinator got the chance to explore all that Las Vegas has to offer, and let me tell you, we packed in as much fun as possible! From delicious drinks and appetizers to unforgettable dining experiences, and a little gambling too, we made the most of our free time.
We explored iconic spots like Caesars Palace, The Bellagio, The Flamingo, and The Wynn. We even ventured off the strip to the Arts District and Fremont Street. When we weren’t working, it was all about play! Some of my favorite culinary experiences included sipping on the Unicorn Lemonade from Cafe Lola, devouring the Pull-Apart Bread at Pinky’s, grabbing a slice of cheese pizza from Evel Pie, and enjoying the Mexican Chop Salad at Toca Modera.
We also made some unforgettable memories, like snapping fun pictures at a photobooth in the Arts District, strolling through the gardens celebrating the Chinese New Year at the Bellagio, and shopping at the Good Wolf Lifestyle Co. (fun fact: the owners of this store used to live in the house we were staying in). One of the highlights of the trip was watching the latest episode of The Traitors together. Several of us had been religiously watching the show, and we even got Jodi into the fun. The anticipation, the laughs, and the shared excitement made it a bonding moment I will treasure forever.
Now, let’s talk about the educational side of things! I spent most of my first two days at the convention immersed in various classes. The range of topics was diverse, covering everything from hydrotherapy in the home to refreshing the do’s and don’ts of specifying glass. I also attended classes on AI in interior design, sustainability in kitchen remodels, and even designing for our furry friends—cats and dogs. I walked away with a ton of new tips and tricks that I’m excited to incorporate into my future projects.
Then there was the discovery portion of the trip, which was nothing short of amazing. The KBIS and IBS shows were packed with hundreds—if not thousands—of vendors displaying their latest and greatest products. For me, it was a great opportunity to see some of the brands we already work with and get a sneak peek at what’s coming next in the industry.
One of the biggest trends we’re seeing this year in design is color—lots of it—but with a bit of a muted tone. Whether it\’s sinks, tiles, or appliances, color is definitely making a statement. Plumbing fixtures were also a huge standout. We saw bathtubs in all kinds of colors, finishes, and even fluted designs. There’s also a huge push towards more technologically advanced plumbing fixtures with an array of finishes we’ve never seen before. For example, while we’ve used white plumbing fixtures in a few of our projects, it looks like white is going to be the gateway color for colored fixtures this year. Would you use a blue or red faucet?!
As far as appliances go, it’s clear that we’re seeing more advancements than ever before. From design to function, the appliance market is evolving at a rapid pace. One of my favorite showroom experiences was at Cafe Appliances, where they showcased stunning new color options and impressive functionalities. Monogram Appliances was another standout, with its high-end displays featuring groundbreaking technologies. They had everything from leather finishes to fabric-covered appliances, each one more stunning than the last.
At the SKS show floor, we discovered what’s next in home appliances. Smaller appliances, AI technologies, and induction cooking are making waves in the kitchen realm, and I’m excited to see how these innovations will change the way we cook at home.
Finally, lighting—let’s just say it’s never looked better! This year’s lighting displays were nothing short of breathtaking, with new shapes, silhouettes, and unique materiality taking center stage. There was a modern yet transitional feel to many of the designs, and I’m thrilled to see how these lighting innovations will translate into our projects.
Overall, our Las Vegas experience was truly a trip of a lifetime. I’m beyond grateful for the opportunity to see what’s new, continue learning, and bond with my incredible team. I came back feeling inspired, energized, and ready to take on the next project. Here\’s to more adventures, discoveries, and memories ahead!

Design Trends, Learning & Vegas Adventures: My KBIS Takeaways – Haylee

What an incredible trip! My first time at KBIS was a major success. From on-the-floor discovery, learning about new innovative products, and continuing my education with speakers from all around the nation, I couldn\’t be happier with what I took away from this experience.
Before the busy week of learning started, we did have opportunities to explore the city of Las Vegas and all it has to offer! From exploring hotels and beautiful dining experiences to shopping and a little gambling here and there, we were able to experience the most in the free time we did have. It was an incredible bonding experience for our team, and I couldn\’t be more grateful for the memories we made.
My trip started off with our marketing coordinator and me landing an hour early from our flight. We hit the ground running, wanting to explore all the things on our list and make the most out of our time! Since we flew in early this day, we got to hit the strip and visited the Cheri rooftop patio. This is a beautiful bar/brunch spot at the Paris hotel. We had the most amazing blueberry bread and drinks here. From there, we jumped from hotel to hotel, seeing the Venetian and exploring the shops. With all that walking around, we needed to cool down. We discovered an ice bar inside the Venetian and stopped to get a drink. We ended our day at the mall to get some last-minute clothes shopping done for the trip! If anyone knows anything about Ally and me, it\’s that we love to shop!
The following day, Jodi and Ashtyn joined us after making it in from their flights. We again had a packed day exploring areas like Caesars Palace, The Flamingo, The Bellagio, The Wynn, The Arts District, and Fremont Street. Some of my favorite memories from our time out exploring these places were all the different food experiences and places we got to try, such as Cafe Lola, Pinky’s, Pizza on Fremont, Toca Moderna, Buddy V’s, etc. Needless to say, we were never starving! We also had some amazing experiences out shopping in the Arts District, supporting local small businesses, seeing the conservatory gardens at the Bellagio, and getting lost a time or two!
The next few days were dedicated to the convention. We spent a good majority of our days either in continuing education classes, where I learned about timeless trends, helping clients make quick decisions, AI in interior design, hydrotherapy, and glass showers. If we weren\’t in classes, we were on the floor seeing all the vendors. We work with countless vendors at EED, and being able to see their products in person while getting sneak peeks at what was up and coming was amazing. We also met new vendors and made new connections with people we hope to use in future projects.
The biggest standout to me was at the SKS booth. This is LG’s luxury line of appliances. We watched a professional chef come in and cook a meal for us. The biggest benefit to me, though, was that while he was cooking and explaining the meal, he was explaining everything about the appliance and how it was helping him throughout the process. His extensive knowledge of both cooking and the ins and outs of appliances gave me knowledge to help explain things to my future clients. A little bonus was getting to try the amazing food afterward!
Another exhibit I truly loved was a new vendor we discovered. They create custom cast stone fireplace mantels. With more ornate decorative fireplaces coming back into trend, I loved learning about their product. They provide a variety of custom cast stone profiles in a variety of colors and ship the item all in one piece for a seamless, beautiful fireplace.
Overall, I couldn’t be more thankful for our trip to Vegas, and to our boss Jodi for making this happen. Working at EED has provided me with so many opportunities and valuable experiences to further my design career! I am excited to be back and share all my new learnings with current and upcoming clients!
Jodi’s KBIS 2025 – Innovation, Inspiration & A Few Laughs Along the Way
Stepping into KBIS 2025 was like walking into the future of design—everywhere I turned, there was something new, innovative, and inspiring. From bold color trends and textured finishes to smart technology seamlessly integrating into our daily lives, this show was a designer’s dream! One of the biggest takeaways? Luxury is no longer just about aesthetics—it’s about wellness, personalization, and creating experiences that truly elevate how we live.
One of the most fascinating innovations I saw was the rise of whole-home water filtration systems. Clean, healthy water straight from every tap in your home? Yes, please! And don’t even get me started on the game-changing plumbing fixtures—boiling water, sparkling water, and filtered water all from a single faucet? The future of kitchens and baths is looking smarter, sleeker, and way more functional.
Of course, no trip to Vegas is complete without a little adventure. Let’s just say navigating the monorail with Ally turned into its own episode of The Amazing Race—complete with wrong stops, long walks, and a whole lot of laughs. And if that wasn’t enough, somehow they even got me hooked on The Traitors!
Beyond the trends, technology, and a few misadventures, my biggest takeaway from this trip is how much I love what I do. Design isn’t just about spaces—it’s about how those spaces make people feel. And after seeing the direction the industry is heading, I couldn’t be more excited to bring these ideas to life for our clients.
