Benjamin Moore Color of the year: Blue Nova Pantone
“Blue Nova 825 from Benjamin Moore is an elevated take on navy, adding complex tones of purple. Nature is a great way to get inspired and I have seen this shade in the mountains of Arizona recently while traveling. Seeing a color in nature is one thing, but now let’s chat about how to utilize it to elevate the design in your home. It’s the perfect mid-toned color to use on a vanity or a wall of built-ins for a touch of drama. I think it would also work well as accent chairs as a solid color or the majority color in an accent chair. If you are into the color but want something less out there to incorporate it into, I recommend incorporating it into bedding, an accent pillow, or accessories sprinkled throughout your space. If you’re feeling a little bit artsy, you could incorporate this color into a custom piece of an abstract piece of artwork!” – Jodi Peterman
Pantone Color of the Year: Peach Fuzz
“The Pantone color of the year will set trends and move design in a bright direction in the new year. “Peach Fuzz” is a warm and vibrant color that emotes happiness and fresh excitement. If you want to find ways to incorporate a bright color such as Peach Fuzz in your design, start with adding some throw pillows, find artwork with a splash of the color, or style shelves with accessories of a similar color. For a more dramatic approach, you can create a trim accent wall and paint it Peach Fuzz, and then incorporate a larger piece of furniture in a similar tone. You could take it into your powder room in the form of wallpaper and then paint your vanity for a wow factor.” – Ashtyn Chance
Sherwin William’s Color of the Year: Upward
“The Sherwin Williams Color of the Year Upward is an amazing light airy blue color. A trend we have seen over the past few years is incorporating biophilic design into our spaces to improve mental health. Biophilic design is all about bringing in natural elements and colors of nature to bring the outdoors in. I think this beautiful sky-blue color can do that. We used this color in one of our recently remodeled homes in a basement bedroom for the wall colors and trim accent. It is a great bright and calming color for a bedroom space, especially in a basement where you don’t receive as much light.”
