Grateful Then, Even More Grateful Now – Elizabeth Erin Designs

As I sat down to reflect on this year and begin this blog, I found myself looking back at previous Thanksgiving posts. One that stood out was from November 2013, a time when the foundation of Elizabeth Erin Designs was solidifying and growing. While many things have changed since then—myself, our team, our projects—the core of what I’m thankful for remains unchanged. This journey of growth and connection wouldn’t be possible without each of you.

Here is a paragraph from that 2013 blog that resonates as much today as it did then:

“I am thankful for Freedom. For all the men and women who have fought for this country, including my brothers and many members of my family, so that my family and I can live in freedom. I am thankful for Jesus, who died on the cross to cover my sins… I am thankful for my Family. They are beautiful gifts from God and a reminder of his love for me and his challenges for me to become a better human being. I am thankful for my team, for the clients who trust us, and for the talented subcontractors who bring our visions to life. Wishing you all a beautiful Thanksgiving holiday with your loved ones!”

These words ring true today. In a world that has seen so much change and challenge, I am even more thankful for the blessings of freedom and the brave individuals who protect it. The personal and professional hurdles I’ve faced have only strengthened my resolve to remain authentic and humble, especially as we work with clients to create spaces that reflect their own unique stories.

This year has held a special mission for us: we’ve had the honor of helping families affected by Hurricane Helene through Bee Log Church in Burnsville, NC. Witnessing the resilience and spirit of this community has been a humbling experience. The generosity of our clients has made it possible for us to give back in meaningful ways. With each project booked this November, a percentage of our proceeds will go toward supporting these families as they rebuild. This work has become a personal calling, and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to help those who need it most.

Thankful for the Team Behind Every Success

I couldn’t reflect on 2024 without expressing my gratitude for the incredible team that makes Elizabeth Erin Designs what it is today. Each person brings unique talents, dedication, and passion to their role, and together we make dreams come to life. From project management to social media to design, every team member plays an integral part.

Today, I’m thankful for:

  • Ally – our marketing assistant who brings our stories to life and keeps our brand vibrant online.
  • Deb – our procurement manager, the steady hand ensuring each order and material reaches its destination.
  • Ashtyn and Haylee – our lead designers, whose creative vision and expertise elevate every project.
  • Natalie – our account executive, keeping client relationships strong and supporting each project’s journey.
  • KayAnna – our designer’s assistant, the backbone behind our creative processes, ensuring details are never overlooked.
  • Danielle – our office assistant, keeping everything running smoothly day-to-day.

Every person who has joined our journey, past or present, has helped shape Elizabeth Erin Designs, and I am endlessly grateful for each of you.

Reflections and New Beginnings

As we close out this year, I’m looking forward to learning from both the highs and the challenges. Gratitude has a way of bringing us back to what truly matters: the people who inspire us, the work that fulfills us, and the communities that connect us.

I encourage each of you to take a moment to share what you’re thankful for. Let’s spread a little extra light and love in a world that could always use more of both.

Warmly,
Jodi Peterman
