Everybody has their own personal preference when it comes to following people online. Clearly we are attracted to more of the design crowd. Here are some of our favorite sites to keep up to date with. Check them out and let us know what you think! Feel free to share some of your favorites with us as well!




Their goal is “To connect people to the resources they need to improve their homes, while reducing their reliance on stuff.” Perfect if you are wanting to make home improvements yourself, or need a little design inspiration to get the juices flowing.




Houzz started when a couple struggled to find the right design inspiration and contacts for their own personal remodel. They were frustrated and wanted a place where all their ideas and contacts could be found together. This is exactly what Houzz is today! A place for both homeowners and professionals to share their experience, design, and look for inspiration.




Decor8 is a great blog on design and lifestyle. It is a source for sharing inspiration ideas, trends, and beautiful finds. The founder, Holly Becker, is an American author, stylist, and photographer. She first launched Decor8 back in 2004 and has since become a best-selling author and pioneer of the design blog movement.

Brady Whitney is a recent graduate of the Industrial and Product Design program at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. We ran across his work through another design Dornob, a collection of all kinds of unique design topics. The link above is to his personal portfolio and website. He is not an avid blogger like the rest, but rather shares an imagination through his portfolio. Definitely worth taking a look at!




Will is just a colorful, bright, lively personality shared with the world through his blog. He is known for his make-you-smile-style. There are lots of articles to read, from interiors to fashion to travel, as well as plenty of inspiration images.




It is exactly how it sounds, an entire website dedicated to making modification and repurposing IKEA products. Some are simples turn arounds and others are complete rehabs. So if you are looking for that weekend DIY project, you are sure to find one here!




An online magazine with five main focuses: design, rooms, renovate, lifestyle, and gardening. Being a magazine, there are always new articles and images coming out to look at. You are sure to get absorbed into their galleries.




The best of Elle Decor magazine, elledecor.com consists of four broad categories: design, celebrity, renovate, and culture. It delivers decoration inspiration, architecture, renovation idea, and lots more.




Country Living believes how you live means a whole lot more than where you live. They give readers the inspiration and confidence to pursue their passions. A wide range of topics include: designs idea, food and drink, gardening, and crafts. Their country lifestyle is capturing the attention of readers, causing them to be the largest selling shelter magazine on the newsstand.




We ran across this site after finding their coloring book online, and boy are we glad we did. Melissa has a great mission of “inspiring women to create an authentic home that they love.” She believes in making a home reflect those who are living in it. The blog regularly shares inspiration and helpful tips for decorating, homemaking and organization in every room. Just a great source on making your house feel like home!




Modlar was developed by architect, Scott Barrington, in order to “connect the design community with leading manufacturers to create efficient, modern and sustainable designs.” Architects, Designers, Contractors, and Engineers all rely on the site to provide them with downloadable products for their design. This is how we originally ran across them. However, there is so much more than that to Modlar. They are just full of unique inspiration imagery. 




I would recommend to anyone, follow some of your favorite designers. There is no better way to keep growing than by being constantly challenged by those in your same profession. Also, if you already like their designs, you are sure to be happy with what they are blogging and selling.
