Redesign Your Life: From Burnout to Breakthrough with Amanda Greaves

Have you ever looked around at your life—everything you worked so hard for—and felt like something was still missing? The beautiful home, the thriving business, the family routines… on the outside, it looks complete. But on the inside, it feels hollow. Disconnected. Like you’ve followed all the rules and still ended up somewhere that doesn’t quite feel like you.

That’s what this episode is about.

On the latest episode of Designing in 5D, I sat down with Amanda Greaves, an award-winning interior designer who built a successful career only to realize it was quietly burning her from the inside out. Her story isn’t just inspiring—it’s validating. Because so many of us have been there.

Amanda spent 14 years running a well-known design firm in Boston. She had a full roster of high-end clients, a talented team, and the kind of projects most designers dream about. But behind the scenes, things were unraveling. She was in an emotionally abusive relationship, working through major client stress, and pushing herself harder than ever. Until her nervous system just… quit. And she finally did, too.

That was the moment she chose to redesign her life.

This episode holds space for the reality so many women face but rarely speak about. The version of burnout that isn’t just physical—it’s emotional, spiritual, and deeply internal. The kind of burnout that doesn’t get fixed with a vacation. The kind that demands transformation.

Amanda shares what it was like to walk away. Not just from a relationship, or a client, or even a business—but from the version of herself that was no longer aligned. She talks about the signs she ignored, the identity she clung to, and the feminine energy she had long disconnected from in order to “succeed” in a male-dominated industry.

We talked about what feminine energy really means—how it’s not about softness for softness’s sake, but about intuition, flow, presence, and trust. She said something that stayed with me: “I thought feminine energy was weak. But I realized—it’s our greatest strength.”

That hit hard. Because I’ve been there, too. There was a time in my business where I was pushing so hard that I couldn’t see how disconnected I’d become—from my home, from my team, from myself. I thought if I just kept working, I’d feel better. Spoiler: I didn’t. It wasn’t until I stopped chasing and started listening that the real change happened.

Amanda’s story is more than a before-and-after. It’s a reminder that the blueprint for our lives is not permanent. We can knock down walls. We can reimagine rooms. We can soften hard edges. We can decide that how we feel matters more than how it looks on paper.

In this episode, she shares the deep work she did to heal old wounds, clear inherited beliefs, and release emotional patterns that were keeping her stuck. She also talks about writing her book, The Chameleon Diaries, which started as a cathartic outlet and evolved into a deeply vulnerable, empowering memoir. It’s part story, part healing tool—and it’s the kind of book that sticks with you.

And yes, we went there. We talked about boundaries, burnout, energy healing, worthiness, mirror work, and even a Hawaiian forgiveness practice called Ho’oponopono that has changed both of our lives. There’s so much heart in this episode, and so much permission to begin again.

There’s no clean formula for when or how to redesign your life. It doesn’t always look like moving across the country or quitting your job. Sometimes, it’s subtler. Sometimes, it’s about taking one quiet moment to ask: is this still working for me? Is this how I want to feel?

This conversation is for anyone who’s felt stuck, exhausted, or like they’ve outgrown a version of themselves. It’s for anyone craving depth over perfection, alignment over achievement, and ease over hustle.

It’s for anyone who’s ready to say: I want more—and I’m allowed to have it.
